Established in 2003, the CGLCC is a trusted partner linking LGBT+ businesses in Canada to the wider business community. It fosters economic growth by supporting and nurturing LGBT+ businesses, entrepreneurs, students and allies, and by helping Canada’s corporate world connect with the LGBT+ business community. A leader in supplier diversity, it is also the certifying body in Canada for LGBT+ businesses.
To help LGBT+ entrepreneurs thrive, it offers:
(1) Access – by building relationships between the LGBT+ business community and the corporate world, and by educating LGBT+ businesses about policies, regulations and opportunities
(2) Engagement – by being an advocate for LGBT+ businesses and supplier diversity, while providing a forum for people to meet and exchange information
(3) Visibility – through its regular workshops, webinars and events
(4) Support – through its training, mentoring, supplier diversity and global programs.


As an LGBT+ creative business owner, I joined the team at Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) to assist in encouraging the awareness of the organization to continue to connect, support and grow its membership. As Creative Director, my responsibilities consist of ensuring brand consistency and managing creative development for the many CGLCC events and activities that require promotional materials.


As a creative strategic partner, Studio Downey offers design skills and creative strategy to assist in Chamber growth and maintaining consistent branding.


Since partnering with CGLCC, the Chamber has experienced increased awareness, consistent brand presence, and elevated event creative. Having a dedicated creative partner has also allowed for a more efficient execution process.
